Is VirtualCare covered by my Capital Blue Cross plan?

While it is included with most Capital Blue Cross plans, VirtualCare is not available to all members. Please check with your employer or review your benefit plan booklet to verify that VirtualCare is included with your program.

When should I use VirtualCare?

Virtual doctor visits are best for colds, fevers, migraines, allergies, and other health issues that would not require a hands-on exam or test. 

What will happen during my VirtualCare doctor visit?

Download the app, register, and request a visit. Most VirtualCare doctor visits are similar to an office visit. Expect a typical appointment to last between 15-20 minutes.

Can my virtual provider write a prescription?

Yes. Your provider will be able to electronically submit a prescription to the pharmacy you select.

Does VirtualCare use Apple’s FaceTime functionality?

No, the app uses built-in video chat.

Is a virtual doctor visit ok for my child?

Yes. If your child is sick, you can schedule an appointment on their behalf. A parent or legal guardian must be present during the VirtualCare visit.

How much does a VirtualCare visit cost?
